The famous rolls from Calcutta or Kolkata, make it to the West – all thanks to The Kati Roll Company. This little eatery tucked away in New York city can do a ton of good for your taste buds.
Kati Rolls are basically Indian wraps. They are hugely famous in Calcutta or Kolkata, India, where it is just called ‘roll’. The difference here is that Kati Rolls are made in a specific way (only) and has a delicious and almost-addictive taste.
Here’s why –
Firstly, the wraps are ‘parathas’ or Indian wheat fried breads.
Secondly, the filling is always the best part, made of spiced chicken, mutton, fish, paneer, or vegetable (chop).
Thirdly, this filing may or may not be topped with some ketchup or tomato sauce, sliced onions and cucumber.
Lastly, these rolls are wrapped with paper always!! You tear the paper from the top as you bite down on the roll.
This is my second visit to this exact same Kati Roll Company venue but this time AB and I both went. Depends on your hunger but these rolls can well be your dinner – they are deliciously filling! In Calcutta, people eat rolls for evening snacks! 🙂
My good-old childhood day memories in Calcutta came flashing back when I took the first bite of the Egg-Chicken roll.
They’ve got the taste spot on! If you’ve eaten Calcutta rolls before, it’s everything your soul can want.
I love their “how to” pictures! I would so visit this spot. I love having food adventures in the city lol I just added them to my Yelp

Yes, I love that poster, too! Very simplistically, they explain exactly how a Kati Roll ought to be eaten. Are you from NYC? If there, you must visit this place. You’ll love it.
And thank you for stopping by my blog 🙂
