Hi,
I am Sumana, the one behind the posts on anartsyappetite.com as I happily cook, paint, photograph, write, and edit for this blog.
Being born and brought up in India, I’ve been a resident of the Bay Area, California, for the past few years. I live here with my husband. I am from the eastern part of India, from a city named Kolkata (or Calcutta) in West Bengal. Despite growing up in a culturally diverse country, the most common love that Indians share is the love for food!! This involves cooking, feeding others, and eating! No surprises here that the love for food, ingredients, recipes, and trying out new cuisines is intrinsic to me.
Art is very close to my heart. I do not hold a formal degree in Art but have never let any opportunity to learn, pass by. I learned art techniques on my own, from books and, of course, the internet. I enjoy painting the most and receiving a lot of appreciation on my paintings led me to start my Etsy Art Shop – ‘An Artsy Appetite’.
The ‘Travel’ section of my blog is the newest addition and is a natural by product of my love for food and art. How can one who loves both these elements, not travel??!
By profession, I am a teacher. It’s not just a ‘job’ for me, I’ve always loved teaching – I remember, as a kid, teaching some of my cousins and my own younger brother whenever I’d get a chance. So teaching is not my ‘second career’ or I didn’t happen to just fall into it. Here, I teach in a public middle school, specifically 8th grade English and History. I love my interactions with the students inside and outside class, their enthusiasm, sense of humor, and their creativity! And if you know middle school kids, there is never a dull moment in my work day! 🙂
Home decor, gardening (especially houseplants), and photography are some of my other interests. Keeping all of this in mind, I decided to blog about not just food but also my artsy expeditions! ‘An Artsy Appetite’ is my way of sharing food recipes and art (including home decor ideas) with all of you.
Feel free to leave comments, requests, suggestions, and feedback below. And I hope you like the posts as much as I enjoy creating them!
Love,
Sumana

So firstly wanna ask you about this blog WordPress. I have installed it, because I always wanted to pen down my thought( which actually I have been doing from 2012, on my diaries) but now I want to write so that people can check out and I can inprove my writing.

So what is your question exactly, about WordPress? You did not mention that. However, I learnt about WordPress blogging through a webinar I attended and then I keep referring to YouTube or just search on Google if I get stuck with something. I am learning about this everyday, that way. Hope this helps.

Ah. I wanted to know about WordPress only. I should also refer YouTube and Google. But how can I participate in challenges? As I read your post about Creative bloggers award etc. Etc.
