This is primarily a photo blog of all the happy memories from our first Apple Picking trip that AB and I went for mid-September.
One of AB’s friend and his family lives near Sacramento, in Folsom, CA. They had been inviting us for a while to visit their new home and spend a weekend with them. After much planning, we made it to their house last month. We got to spend a fun-and-rest-filled weekend away from home. To add to this, we went to two apple orchards and got to apple pick for the first time, and enjoy all that the orchards had to offer.
The first one was at Denver Dan’s Apple Orchard. It had a shop filled with apple sauces, jams, curds, preserves, etc, fresh apples, and freshly baked apple goodies in their Bake Shop.
The highlight of this orchard was that it had pony rides, llamas, and donkeys. I was seeing llamas for the first time. They were adorable. 🙂
The second orchard was where we saw a plethora of apples. Bunches of wholesome apples hanging from trees and many on the ground! This orchard – High Hill Ranch – also has a shop of similar things, a restaurant, a pony rides area, a little fishing pond, and an expansive market with local sellers with their artwork, pottery, and other goods.
If you ever get a chance to visit an apple farm or orchard, don’t miss the opportunity!
With all the granny smiths that I brought back from this trip, I made some delicious apple crisp!!
Have a fun weekend and….Happy Fall Y’all! 🙂
